Main research fields: Doctoral supervisor, level two researcher. In recent years, he has directed and completed the national natural science key fund, the international cooperation project fund, the national 973 project and other projects, the geological survey project chief. He has published more than 180 papers, 60 plus ones as the first author, 35 ones are included into the first author and correspondent SCI and EI. He has won as the first author the first class of science and technology of the Ministry of Land and Resources, the first class of the Chinese Geological Survey, the 1:50,000 mapping of the original mine site, and the ten great progress of the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences. He has worked with scholars from Russia, the United States, Mongolia, Spain, Australia, Germany to conduct cooperative research. Research directions: Granite and mineralization, continental crust growth, tectonic deformation and orogenic belt evolution. Research areas: Central Asia orogenic belt, Qinling Mountains orogenic belt, North China block. He has made achievements in the temporal and spatial evolution of granites in China and its adjacent areas, the crustal growth in Central Asia and the Mesozoic crustal extension in Northeast Asia. He is deputy director of the Institute of Geology, Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences, deputy director of the Structural Geology Specialized Committee of the Chinese Geological Society, Secretary General of the Regional Geology and Mineralization Specialized Committee and editorial board of the Journal of Rock Mineralogy.
